Congratulations. You've just stumbled into another pothole on the "Information Superhighway." Since Dubby Dot Org is little more than a creative outlet, you may be disappointed if you came here in search of useful information. However, that doesn't rule out the possibility of you finding something of interest.
I should probably warn you that this site contains views, opinions, and other material which some may find offensive. If you have an objection to my first amendment rights, I'll be happy to bend over so you can kiss my virtual ass. However, I'm not going to change the content of my site for anyone. You may feel an adolescent urge to threaten me and/or practice your "elite hacking skills" on my webhost, but that will only cause me to laugh at you.

|
Yeah, I took down that last post about Katie. I'm sorry. I just felt that it was doing more harm than good. I was looking for a little advice; not a Katie-bashing contest. Comments are one thing, but insults aren't necessary.
Now with that said, head on over to Mephisto's site and help him on his quest to fuck every webmaster on Earth.

If you have some time to waste, do this:
open up a telnet connection to blekko.com
type 'starwars'
i'm still in awe....
UPDATE: Check out some of the other things at blekko while you're there. 'octopus' seems like it could come in handy and areacode is a cool little tool.

[2000-11-16 00:56:20 EST - Mike]: The Link Queue
|
I've come up with something better than a top 10 referrers list. Behold the almighty link queue! Now everyone has an equal chance of being linked on my main page regardless of how much traffic they get. Here's how it works: The queue contains five nodes (links). Every time someone visits my site, the referring domain is moved to the head of the queue. That's all there is to it! It doesn't take a genius to realize that this thing will generate more traffic for you than any link page. Therfore, I will no longer be accepting link exchange requests. Just link to me, and a reciprocal link will be generated for you automatically.
UPDATE: Oops, I forgot to tell you something. The queue only works with domains since there's no way to determine whether or not a referrer's path contains a username. I could check for a ~ character, but that still leaves out a lot of free hosting sites (like Geocities and Angelfire). That means you're probably screwed if your username doesn't exist in your hostname. Sorry people, I did my best. Oh, and if you're still upset that I removed my links page, think about this; Would you rather have your link on my main page (which hundreds of people look at every day) or on some stupid links page (which 15 people look at every day)? The links in the queue aren't "permanent" per-se, but you'll definitely receive traffic as long as you're sending some to me. Now stop being dumb! ;)

[2000-11-14 22:51:46 EST - Steve]: I rule too!
|
Today I took a crap in one of the toilets at my work. It had a nice green tint to it, smelled wonderful, AND it came out as one big log--no breaks at all. It was just beautiful. After I finished, I had to show it to someone so I grabbed the next person I saw, which happened to be the CEO. He was so proud of what I had done, that he decided to put my name on one of our next press releases as one of the great developers in the company. So, to sum this all up, I rule too.

[2000-11-14 21:55:51 EST - Mike]: I Rule
|
As some of you already know, I'm taking a course on Computer Ethics this semester. If you've never heard of computer ethics, that's probably because it didn't exist until about 20 years ago (when my professor and a few other guys started it). However, it's quickly becoming part of the requirements for computer science programs around the world. Since it's so new, there are very few textbooks on the subject. We don't even use one in my class, but my professor is in the process of writing one. Well, I got back my paper on computer privacy today with a little note next to my grade. It that said my essay was "very well written" and that it would be used in his textbook. My name will also be put in the preface as someone who contributed. Remember, this will be one of the first computer ethics textbooks ever published. People all over the world are gonna see what I wrote for years to come. If you haven't figured it out yet, I rule.

[2000-11-13 22:58:59 EST - Mike]: New Linking Policy
|
I've come up with a new linking policy. From now on, the sites listed on my sidebar will reflect the sites that I'm visiting most often. This list will change on a "whenever I feel like it" basis. If your site doesn't appear on this list, it doesn't mean that I don't like it. It simply means that I haven't been looking at it much lately. Therfore, taking offense to my new policy would be dumb.
UPDATE: In order to make things fair to people who actually send me traffic, I've started a new "Top Referrers" thing on the mental drawing board. Since I have no life to speak of, I'll probably put it up this weekend. =P

Yes, the layout is almost exactly the same. So what? I like it! =P Most of the work I did involved converting Perl scripts into PHP scripts. I also took all of my old news and put it into a MySQL database. Do you have any idea how much of a pain in the ass it is to convert HTML into SQL statements? Anyway, I still have a lot more planned. I just wanted to get something up here for now so everyone would know that I'm actually doing something.
By the way, I gave Steve (the other guy from ha.mpg) the ability to post here. Why? Because he's sick like me. Tom had this to say: "Downtown Shelton is turning into a ghetto." That is all.

[2000-11-12 17:16:21 EST - Mike]: Same look; Cool New Features
|
Tada! It took me two weeks, but the new site is finally up. I did a complete rewrite in PHP with MySQL. Consequently, the site is gonna have to stay on my company's server until Brent installs PHP and MySQL, or until I get a new host. Well, I have a headache from sitting here all day, so I'm gonna go out. I'll try to do some more work later. Leave me some comments and stuff.

[2000-10-24 20:21:41 EST - Mike]: I Will Survivorererererer
|
Out of about 80 applicants, I was one of 16 chosen to participate in "The Ultimate E/N Challenge," Survivorer. After reading the rules, I'm beginning to wonder what I got myself into. First of all, Samn refuses to let me refuse the money if I win. In that case, I'll have no other choice but to spend it on someone else (take that Samn!). The other problem is the sheer amount of work required to stay in the game. With school, my job, and everything else, I'm not sure that I'll be able to handle it. That's why I've decided to do all of my updates on the Survivorer site as long as I'm playing. Not only will this make things easier for me, but most of my traffic should carry over to the game. Anyway, Survivorer begins at midnight on October 27. I'll see you there if I don't forget. =P
UPDATE: Oops! I'm not 100% sure, but I think that whole Survivorer thing was supposed to be a secret until tomorrow. I'm sorry if I ruined anything. I didn't mean to.
